Mish's Global Economic Trend Analysis: What's the Real CPI?

Mish's Global Economic Trend Analysis: What's the Real CPI?

1 comment:

  1. CPI stands for consumer price index. There are several running: CPI-U which the government uses and CS-CPI with both having minor differences: the government one uses OER (owners equivalent rent = income coming from renting) with a 2% increase YOY (year over year) while the CS-CPI uses -18.1% (negative 18%) in their formula for CPI which will obviously show a huge drop in CPI vs the government CPI. Now I am adding a third CPI: Shadowstats...all have different values...thats why you should wonder which CPI has been used when reading the news...which is more accurate? The CS-CPI because is taking under consideration housing devaluation...
