I am a regular "Joe" may be not a plumber but a regular average next door guy who is concerned with USA economy. Currently underemployed and with a $ 250 000 in student loans and with a bankruptcy filed not long time ago my passion for the state of the economy arouse ... My purpose is to gather information from different journals and or blogs and help those fellows americans interested in the economy have a broader perception of what really is happening.
ADP shows a decrease on payrolls. ADP measures performance of the private sector and doesnt take under consideration the government payroll neither the weather....Yet ADP noticed a decreased on private sector payroll: construction fell by 43,000, while factories lost 9,000 jobs...companies with more than 499 workers reduced their workforce by 7 000, medium sized companies 4 000 while small companies (50 workers or less) by 12 0000. Caterpillar is so optimistic that is going to expand its operations in 3 to 4 years depending on demand and other factors (hmmmmm is that optimistic?) while the producer of Folgers coffee and Jiff peanut butter is closing down 4 plants from 22... ADP has been reporting since 2006 and has records that goes back to 2001 and its information is based on approximately 360 000 businesses...PS: according to the economists we should expect some impact on unemployment due to the census...I am just wondering: what if we see more cuts on payroll during or after summer? Who will we blame? the weather?
