I am a regular "Joe" may be not a plumber but a regular average next door guy who is concerned with USA economy. Currently underemployed and with a $ 250 000 in student loans and with a bankruptcy filed not long time ago my passion for the state of the economy arouse ... My purpose is to gather information from different journals and or blogs and help those fellows americans interested in the economy have a broader perception of what really is happening.
The author of this article poses a few interesting questions: Is the case of Greece (a country that owns a debt that surpasses its GDP) a mirror of what could happen to USA?, How long can the United States remain the world's largest economy as well as the world's largest debtor?, a large portion of that debt is owed to foreign investors, including China, Japan, Britain and Saudi Arabia what would happen if investors star bedding against USA that it wont pay its debt like they are doing in Greece? or what if investors start departing from investing in USA treasury bonds? A point that an economist bring to question is: what if global investors start asking for higher interest rates? These questions are raised by this analysts and mentions that Spain was the world power during 16th century while France for the 17th, England for 18th and 19th while USA for the 20th...does it means that China and India will be the ones for 21st century?
